Rin is an independent illustrator with roots in children's book illustration/editorial design and has rediscovered her passion for publishing art after almost a decade of freelance illustration work. Her focus is in book cover design/interior art with a preference for LGBTQ+ dark romance, dark fantasy, and horror. Her specialty is cover design, interior art, and character design.

   No AI is ever used in her work—she believes in forming a supportive, encouraging, and very human relationship with authors as fellow creators, and she loves the mental challenge of creating work that truly captures the themes and plot of what her clients envision to the best of her ability.

   She has the honor of living in one of the most forested areas of the Chicago suburbs with over a hundred miles of trails and hidden history which has allowed her to combine her love of stories, nature, history, and illustration. She gathers inspiration as a volunteer/employee for her local forest preserve district—whether it's tracking mushrooms, finding graves, giving ghost tours, caring for native plants in the heritage garden of a haunted mansion or introducing people to 1890s farming history—which has sparked her interest and fed her imagination when it comes to gothic horror and atmospheric illustration.

   When she's not wandering the woods or stepping back in time, she can be found happily reading queer horror novels in all seasons, bingeing forensic crime shows, feeding her curious mind, learning a new skill, or learning about the psychology of personality and human connection.

   Rin aspires to combine art, exploration and the beauty hiding not just in the shadows of the woods, but within ourselves. Her goal in life and in art is to seek possibility, encourage self-knowledge, inspire personal growth, and help champion stories that help us feel just a little closer to our authentic selves and shared humanity.
